Weightage to +2 Marks in CBSE/State Board is NO More for JEE
Most of the
young Engineering aspirants will definitely love to clear their Joint Entrance
Exam (JEE) to get their desired Engineering Seat in any of the top premier
institutes in India like IITs, NITs and more private universities as well. However,
when coming to the cutoff marks stuff, clearing the JEE exam isn’t enough as
there will be a 40% weightage to the CBSE/State Board +2 exam marks. Though
with excellent record with the JEE Exam, some students might miss the chances
of getting admission with the top institutes, just because of lack of marks
with their respective boards Plus 2 exams for sure.
No More 40% Weightage to Class XII Marks
in JEE:
“The Human
Resource Development (HRD) Ministry on Thursday said there will be no system of
giving 40% weightage to class XII board marks in the Joint Entrance Examination
(JEE) from 2017.” The above statement is officially declared by MHRD by
Honorable minister SmirtiIrani. Interestingly, this crucial parameter will be
come to play by JEE 2017 onwards. She also added that, “For the candidates to
qualify in the JEE, they shall have secured at least 75% marks or be in the top
20 percentile in the Class XII examination conducted by respective boards”.
The ministry
also stated that, ““The present system of giving 40% weightage for the Class 12
marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE Main shall be dispensed with. All
other JEE systems shall remain unchanged”.
No Changes with the JEE 2017 Pattern:
These changes
doesn’t affect the pattern of the JEE 2017 examination for sure. Hence, there
will definitely be a two parts, i.e. part I JEE Main and Part II JEE Advanced
indeed.
Also, the
candidates admissions to the IITs and NITs will remains the same as the
candidates performance with the JEE Advanced Exam indeed.
